President Hassan Rouhani made the remarks while speaking to a group of women and family rights activists in Tehran on Sunday.
He expressed satisfaction over the fact that his election promise to the public about the resolution of the nuclear issue has been fulfilled so far, adding that the country, people, and the negotiating team had carried out their responsibilities towards the talks.
“Currently, we are very close to the peak in the nuclear talks, although there are still some steps left to reach it. With the help of God, the Iranian negotiators will triumph in this difficult and complicated battle,” said Rouhani.
Earlier in the day, President Rouhani ordered Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization (AEOI) to enforce the recently ratified Parliament's Act mandating government to safeguard the country's nuclear rights and achievements.
Under this law, any conclusion reached during the ongoing nuclear talks with the 5+1 should include the “complete” removal of sanctions against Tehran, implemented on the day of reaching an agreement.
It also calls on Iranian foreign minister to brief the Parliament with regular reports every six-month on implementation of the deal.
It further asserts that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is only allowed to inspect nuclear sites and will not be granted access to other sensitive or military sites.
After missing several deadlines, Iran and the six states are holding intensive talks in Vienna to finally clinch an agreement over Tehran’s nuclear program by July 13.
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said on Sunday that there is no plan to extend the talks beyond the Monday deadline.
